Janet Barson

Janet Barson’s career has been varied, and started with her graduation from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City with a degree in fashion design. Right after school, she began working on Fashion Avenue in Manhattan.

Ms. Barson’s specialty was the design of bridal gowns. Several of her designs were published in bridal magazines such as Modern Bride and Bride, amongst other national magazines. After several years in Manhattan, Ms. Barson owned a clothing store in Somerville, NJ in addition to other employment situations.

In 2002, along with her husband, Kal Barson, she co-founded The Barson Group. Several years later, she became the Executive Director of the CPA-USA Association—a national association of CPA firms. In addition to other duties, Ms. Barson organizes and runs the Association's meetings and conferences.

​

Ms. Barson is the proud mother of two highly accomplished daughters and the proud grandmother of two grandsons. A well-known member of the Bridgewater/Somerville communities, Ms. Barson has been active with the Women’s Philanthropy Division of the Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties (now called the Jewish Federation of West-Central New Jersey).

One of her favorite current activities is driving her red convertible.
